How does it work?

Fare Protection works a bit differently depending on the partner that you purchased with, but it's always easy to use for smart travelers.

Let's say you found a great airfare from your flight search, but you aren’t quite ready to book quite yet. Still, you don’t want to risk losing out on a great deal. That's why Fare Protection is right for you.

For claims-based Fare Protection: FLYR pays you back up to $200/passenger if you end up booking your protected itinerary at a higher price. You'll simply need to submit a claim by forwarding your flight booking to us.

For CheapOair users: FLYR gives you a discount that you can use upon checkout. When you're ready to book, simply follow the link located in your Fare Protection confirmation email to take up to $200/passenger off any increase in airfare upon checkout during your booking.

If you purchased Fare Protection on CheapTickets/BudgetAir/Vayama: To book your flight, click on the "book flight now" link located in your Fare Protection confirmation email. If your protected flight has increased in price, we will send you an email with a secure payout link after you complete the booking.

In either case, you can always walk away entirely from your flight, since you're never obligated to make any additional purchase. The most you'd lose is the price of Fare Protection, which beats paying hundreds in change/cancellation fees to airlines!
